Roland Massimino gets first Tour win in Boys 15-18 Division; Katie Edelblut dominates Girls 15-18 Division; Ethan Ng ekes out win in Boys 11-14 Division
The IMG Junior Golf Tour returned to the Northeast this spring at Heron Glen Golf Club in Ringoes, N.J., April 6-7. The event featured players from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut and Maryland. Chilly temperatures on Saturday, and wind on Sunday, made for tough playing conditions through the weekend, but it did not stop Roland Massimino of Lumberville, Pa. from taking the win in the Boys 15-18 Division for his first career Tour victory. Massimino shot a solid 72+75=147 (+3) secure the win.
“The wind was strong Sunday, so really had to focus out there,” said Massimino on securing the win. “The course layout was nice, and the openness of course fit my game.”
Katie Edelblut of New Hope, Pa. won Girls 15-18 Division with scores of 73-80 (+9) on the weekend.
“I had to hit a variety of low and high shots with the winds out there both days, by my driver definitely helped me win,” said Edelblut of the win. “I felt pretty relaxed until my best friend came to watch me on Sunday, and I got nervous and went +5 during that time.”
Ethan Ng of New York, N.Y. won the Boys 11-14 Division by a single stroke with a solid nine-over 158 to secure the title.
Heron Glen, located between Philadelphia and New York City, is a Kemper Sports managed facility.
