IMG JGT Announces New Ascender Series for Intermediate Players!
Series to be focused on player development for intermediate players
We are excited to start a new series within the IMG Junior Golf Tour this fall. Our Ascender Series will feature three events in the fall and four events in the spring, focused on intermediate-level players that are not yet ready for national-level competition, but are still looking for the high-quality, professionally-conducted tournament experience that players have come to expect from the IMG Junior Golf Tour.
Focused on player development, Ascender Series events will feature:
· Tournament course set ups appropriate for intermediate players:
o Consideration of course difficulty (slope/rating) in Core Series venue selections
o Shorter tournament yardages
o Less challenging hole locations
· Experiences that emphasize learning and development in building a comfort level with competitive tournament golf
· Ascender Series events are generally recommended for players with a current handicap index of 10-20.
Ascender Series events are indicated on the event name (i.e. “ASCENDER SERIES – Palm Aire Country Club) on the IMG Junior Golf Tour schedule page.
