Ballyowen to host first-ever Northeast Tour Championship presented by Visit Sarasota
Series capstone event to take place May 9-10, 2015
The IMG Junior Golf Tour has announced the first ever Northeast Tour Championship presented by Visit Sarasota to be held May 9-10, 2015 at Ballyowen Golf Club in Hamburg, New Jersey.
As a capstone event to the Visit Sarasota County Northeast Series that features three fall and three spring events, the event will feature up to 84 players for 36 holes of nationally-ranked competition. Players will compete for Golfweek/Sagarin Junior Rankings and Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings. Visit Sarasota Northeast Series Players of the Year in each age division will be awarded at the event based on series points standings.
Ballyowen Golf Club, part of Crystal Springs Resort, is perennially recognized by numerous publications as one of the best courses you can play in the state of New Jersey. Ballyowen was named as the #1 Public Golf Course by New Jersey Monthly and one of the Top 50 Public Courses in the US by Conde Nast's GolfWorld Magazine.
All players earning points (based on earning a top-10 finish) in any Visit Sarasota Northeast Series event this season will earn an automatic bid into the event. Remaining spots will be available for IMG Junior Golf Tour members on a first come, first served basis beginning February 20.
In addition to two rounds of golf, the tournament entry fee includes an awards luncheon for players and any mothers in attendance. Also in recognition of Mother’s Day, mothers in attendance will receive a special gift from Under Armour, the official apparel sponsor of the IMG Junior Golf Tour.
